DESCRIPTION
Xovoltib 50mg belongs to quinazoline and butanamide derivative which acts as a tyrosine kinase inhibitor of epidermal growth factor receptors (ERBB RECEPTORS) and is used in the treatment of metastatic NON-SMALL CELL LUNG CANCER.Xovoltib 50mg tablet is a prescription drugs which is used under the guidance of medical practioners.

INDICATION
Xovoltib 50mg is indicated for treatment a certain type of lung cancer (non-small cell lung cancer) which has spread to other parts of the body.DOSAGE
Xovoltib 50mg tablet the prescribed dose for the treatment of non-small cell lung cancer as follows :For adult :
The prescribed dose is 40mg taken once per day.
For child dosage :
Ages of 0-17 years is not being studied in children.
The drug should not be used age under 18 years of age
For renal impairment:
prescribed dose is 30mg taken once per day
Take Xovoltib 50mg tablet on an empty stomach. Consume the drug 1 hour before or 2 hours after a meal
Avoid cutting or crushing the tablet.
MECHANISM
Xovoltib 20mg blocking the activating sites called tyrosine kinases of various proteins within the cell. These proteins are most likely to develop cancer growth when the tumor includes the EGFR gene mutation. By stopping these targets, it will target the cancer will shrink.PRECAUTIONS
Diarrhae:mostnormal condition for people administrating this drug to have diarrhea. Certain situation this diarrhea can be serious. Severe diarrhea can cause dehydration and renal problems which can sometimes lead to death. During your treatment with Xovoltib 50mg, your doctor should also to treat diarrhea primarily.
Hepatic toxicity : Xovoltib 50mg can worsen liver problems. Doctor will take blood tests to monitor the liver function before and during your treatment with this drug.
Keratitis: if patients confirm with suspected keratitis or ulcerative keratitis then stop or discontinue the drug
Interstitial lung disease (ILD) : Xovoltib 50mg tablet drug can leads to lung and breathing problems. Inform doctor right away about new or worsening lung problems while taking this drug. These problems can involveDyspnea, cough, or fever.
Bullous and exfoliative skin disorder : Xovoltib 50mg can affect skin severely and show redness, rash, and acne. Inform doctor right away if you affected by severe skin reactions such as peeling or blistering.
Embryo-fetal toxicity:
Xovoltib 50mg will cause harm to the foetus when administrated to pregnant women.
DRUG INTERACTION
Concomitant of Xovoltib 50mg with P-gpinhibitors (cyclosporine A, ketoconazole verapamil) will increase exposure to AfatinibInteraction of Xovoltib 50mg with P-gpinducers (carbamazepine, phenytoin, phenobarbital) will decrease exposure to Afatinib
STORAGE
Xovoltib 50mg tablet Store at 25℃.Keep Xovoltib 50mg away from children.
MISSED DOSE
If patient missed to take the dose of Xovoltib 50mg,the missed dose should be skipped and follow the regular dosing schedule. Do not self-medicate. Do not double the dose.SIDE EFFECTS
